You can’t say you really know Ferrara if you haven’t tried the most authentic flavors that allow you to discover its history and tradition through taste. Right in front of the Estense Castle, in a cozy family-run business, you will be able to enjoy a mouth-watering local food tasting, paired with a glass of Bosco Eliceo, one of the most traditional DOC wines from our area. A selection of cured meats, like “zia ferrarese” – typical salami from Ferrara – “ciccioli” and “pancetta” to go with “coppia”, the unusually cross-shaped ferrarese bread, with “crostini” which, according to the myth, were inspired by Lucrezia Borgia’s hair. And to end on a sweet note, a taste of “pampepato”, the delicious dessert covered in dark chocolate and filled with almonds, hazelnuts, candied fruit and fragrant spices, first made by the nuns in the Corpus Domini cloister.
